| This information is intended for campers who want some
basic guidance on Electrical Hook-ups. A typical Electrical Hook-up for use in tents consists of: a single or triple 13 amp socket, a distribution box with a transparent window housing a 10amp double pole MCB and 25amp RCD.This should be in an integral housing This in turn is connected to cable with a commando type plug at the opposite end. These cables are sold complete at most reputable camping outlets. They are available with a single socket outlet or a three socket outlet as shown. We would recommend that your cable should be a minimum of 10m long (and preferably longer) for use on our campsite. |

Purchase a unit which is weatherproof and designed for camping use. do not attempt to cut corners. It is not advisable to use normal household appliances, purchase appliances designed for camping use. You must take professional advice when installing electricity in your tent, or caravan. |
